Friends PTA Constitution Update

Friends PTA have successfully updated their charity constitution after a consultation process and an open vote held during a Special General Meeting on January 26th, 2022.

Apart from streamlining and updating minor points of language to align with current Charity Commission guidelines, the main changes were to add a welcoming ethos, emphasising that any parent, staff member or member of the school community can contribute without being formally involved with Friends. It was also agreed that for the sake of making the charity’s structure more amenable to busy parent/carer volunteers, all members of the committee must also be a Trustee of the charity, with the additional option of taking on one of the named officer roles (such as Chair, Treasurer, Secretary).

The list of Friends Trustees is in the process of being updated to remove former officers and to include new ones. Friends can be found on the Charities Commission website here.
