Year 1: Forest School and Measuring

Year 1 have enjoyed their first session of forest school this week. We had such good fun building some Rapunzel towers and then linking this to our learning in maths. We have been learning how to measure using non-standard units like blocks and Lego bricks. In forest school some children were being creative by using leaves and our hands to measure. We have also been hunting for signs of spring. We have been learning about the seasons, and it’s great to come outdoors and see for ourselves how we are moving from winter into spring. We found beautiful pink blossom on the tress and a variety of flowers beginning to bloom.
