Year 2: Forest School and Museums

As we career towards the end of term, Year 2 have had great fun getting out and about.  The class had a wonderful time in forest school learning all about hibernation which linked nicely to our class book, Winter Sleep, A Hibernation Story. They made clay hedgehogs (amongst other things), explored the area for wildlife and toasted marshmallows over the fire.
As part of their learning in History, the class went to Bath Postal Museum. They each paid for entry with a 50p coin, had a go at perforating their own stamps, dressed up as posties from throughout the ages and learnt all about why sorting offices had cats as well as finding about Rowland Hill and the Penny Post.
Yesterday, the class side stepped the Christmas market to see the Peter Brown (Pete the Street) exhibition at Victoria Art Gallery.  They collaged their own houses to make their very own street on which they all live.
After all this, Year 2 are now looking forward to enjoying the Christmas festivities in school and of course shining brightly in the Year 1 and 2 Nativity performances.
