Year 2: Science & Architecture

Year 2 have been working incredibly hard over the last couple of weeks to produce lots of wonderful writing linked to our class book, The Egg Box Dragon. They have written kennings, diary entries, written the next part of the story and begun to write informal letters. They have been working really hard to include apostrophes for contraction and possession in their work as well as subordinating conjunctions and the results have been incredible. Alongside that, the class have been working really hard on handwriting and presentation to produce beautifully crafted pieces of written work.
In Science, there have been lots of investigations about the properties of everyday materials and their suitability for different purposes. While in History, the class have been learning about Sir John Wood and his role as an architect and town planner in Bath ahead of a trip to the Museum of Bath Architecture after the Easter holidays. It’s also been great to see the sunshine this week and the whole class enjoyed practising their catching and throwing skills outside and having a few games of ‘hand tennis!’
