Year 3: Autumn Adventure
This week, Year 3 celebrated the return of blue skies and sunshine with a fantastic afternoon in our beautiful Conservation Area. Everyone was super ready to explore an Autumn-themed array of Forest School activities, from den-building and mud-kitchen cooking to leaf sweeping, pond-life searching and even fairy-house building (complete with fairies of course!).
Craft stations inspired some nature-themed creations including friendship bracelets and printing with leaves, while teamwork shone in swing-building and knot-tying challenges. Not forgetting a colourful selection of ‘woolly marshmallows’ and a Wild Adventure with DJ Fox and The Owl.
Another special moment was gathering together at the end of the day to learn a new song:
My love for you… is like a fire in Winter
My love for you… is a bird in Spring
My love for you… is like a rose in Summer
My love for you… is precious thing
Year 3 are keen to add another line to include Autumn so back in class we’re ready to explore the power of similes to capture the magic of this season.
It was a golden afternoon filled with learning, laughter and new skills – a perfect celebration of nature, imagination, friendship and team work.
We are so thankful for the experience. Thankyou Mrs Dabbs. Amazing creativity and focus from everybody. Well done Year 3!
