Year 4: Cross Country
Eleven of our Year 4 children took part in a cross-country competition alongside pupils from around eight other schools. The weather was deceptively bright—blue skies overhead but a biting chill in the air, with a strong icy wind hitting hardest on the uphill section.
The children arrived full of excitement and a few nerves, but they all ran an amazing race. Every runner completed the 1.2km course and finished exhausted but proud of their efforts. It was wonderful to see them encouraging one another and cheering on children from other schools too.
Once they had recovered, the children then took part in a relay and, in true St Andrew’s style, they gave their personal best once again. Their teamwork shone through as they supported and encouraged one another throughout the event.
We are so proud of their resilience, positive attitude, and outstanding effort—they should be incredibly proud of themselves!
