Year 5’s debate about The Midnight Fox

Year 5 have been exploring a character’s dilemma based on our class text, The Midnight Fox. Is it right to hunt animals to protect your farm? What about a rare species of black fox? Are there two sides to this debate? Of course there are! After exploring a range of ideas, we took part in a structured formal debate in which the proposition team attempted to bat away criticisms from the opposition team. We learned how to deliver our points with clarity, providing justifications and summaries to for our audience.
