Year 6: Descriptive Writing

Year 6 have been busy writers over the past two weeks. We have studied the work of professional authors to see how they create dialogue and convey character through it. We also looked at what techniques and skills made an engaging and atmospheric setting description.

Finally, we created our own narrative arcs to then inform the writing of our own ‘missing chapters’ for our class text, The Boy at the back of the Class. Have a look at these wonderful examples, full of description, dialogue and a build-up of drama.
