Year 6: Global Trade & Electrical Circuits
Year 6 have been very busy preparing for their SATs tests – we are so proud of their hard work, resilience and focus during this term, and know that they will do themselves proud next week.
That’s not all, of course – we have also been delving into the world of global trade in Geography. Where exactly do we get our ‘stuff’? We have learned about the different commodities that the UK imports and exports, what they are used for, and the impact this has on the world, its people and the environment.
In Science, we have been making electrical circuits, drawing diagrams and investigating how adding more components can increase resistance and affect the way in which bulbs, motors and buzzers work. It’s a tricky thing to get right – making sure that the cell terminals are connected the right way round, that the circuit is complete and that there is enough voltage to power the different components. The class did brilliantly as problem-solving and recording measurements to make scientific conclusions.
