Year 6: Shakespeare & Djembe

Year 6 are in full swing now with their rehearsals for their summer production of Romeo and Juliet. They have thrown themselves into the challenge of learning Shakespearean language and are performing it amazing expression and understanding of character. It’s a big undertaking, with songs, dance choreography, costumes and props, but things are progressing well and the class are very excited to showcase their finished performance in July!

We have also had a lovely experience learning more of the djembe drums, touching on different rhythms and hearing about their ancient history and place within music even today.
