Year 6: VE Day Celebrations

Year 6 have been working very hard over the past few weeks and will soon be sitting their SATs. It was time to let our hair down. And, to tie in with our WWII topic in History, it seemed the perfect time to celebrate by marking the 80^th Anniversary of VE Day! We had tea, scones, cake, cucumber sandwiches and garibaldis. Tea served the right way or course – from a pot.

We spent some time singing along to some old war-time songs such as It’s a Long Way to Tipperary, We’ll Meet Again, and Pack Up Your Troubles in Your Old Kit Bag. It was a real treat!
