Year 4: Reading & dental hygiene

Year 4 have made a wonderful start to the new term, enjoying a range of lessons! However, it seems they particularly LOVE books and stories (so do we!) and they have been using books to inspire their writing.

The children have been writing letters to The King who Banned the Dark, to give him some advice. They have empathised well with the character and offered reasons as to why banning the dark wouldn’t be a good idea, and suggestions of what he would do instead. They enjoyed reading their letters to one another and checking their work through with their buddies.

In Science, we have been learning about the teeth and their role in the human digestive system. The children made their own models of gums and teeth and labelled each tooth type. We also learned abut the role of Dentists and Dental Hygienists.
