Year 5: Varjak Paw and Cezanne

It’s been an absolute pleasure teaching year 5 over the past two weeks – you’ve made me feel very welcome! In English, I was very impressed by the children’s diary entries based on our book: Varjak Paw.

We have been understanding the place value of 5-digit numbers in Maths. For our science lessons we have been studying and researching gestation periods.

In Art, we have been studying the work of Cezanne. We studied his still life portraits and then practised drawing fruit and vegetables.

The children loved their first forest school session! We started with some team games and then explored the forest school area. We all enjoyed the arts and crafts activities, and the children also made some very impressive dens. Keep up the good work Year 5!
