Bumblebees: Melting Ice Cubes

The cold weather has prompted an interest in ice in Reception, and when there wasn’t any ice outside we explored ice cubes indoors.

The children developed an understanding of what melting means, as well as developing their vocabulary as they explored the cubes. They discovered that holding the cubes in their hands made the ice melt, as well as making their fingers turn red.
