Outstanding Southwest in Bloom Award

Southwest In Bloom – RHS 2023 It’s your Neighbourhood Award

St Andrew’s Church School Bath received the highest-level award -Outstanding for their work in the school and local neighbourhood to keep the areas looking beautiful and inspire the next generation of gardeners. The school was visited last July and has now received their feedback and award.

The report stated:

‘This school has an ethos of ‘child led’ activities and this is evident in the school grounds. I was escorted around the school by Governor Delia and by the Head Teacher Jayne, who is very supportive of the outdoor learning areas. I saw various areas cultivated by different age groups, and a conservation area complete with outdoor classroom and forest school area, and ‘mud kitchens’ in several areas. There is also a bed on a nearby street that was planted and is maintained by the school. The school grows and propagates houseplants to sell to raise funds. The garden is used for curriculum related learning, and maximum use is being made of the limited green space in this inner city school.’
