Year 2: Busy Start to the Year

It has been wonderful to welcome Year 2 back into the classroom and what a busy time we have had.

The children have been reading and retelling lots of fables in our story book Fridays. Alongside this, the class have been learning all about Pablo Picasso and the Cubist art movement and have had great fun drawing self-portraits before transforming these into a Cubist collage portrait.

In Maths, the class have been looking at numbers to 100 and learning to partition numbers flexibly.

In Geography, the class have been looking at maps of Bath and learning how to use simple coordinates to find places on the map.

In Science, the class has been learning about life cycles and this week, they thought about the different things that humans are able to do as they grow from babies to adults. As well as all this, the children have been designing their Christmas cards which involved painting their feet brown. Can you guess what they have painted?
