Year 2: Teamwork and Experiments

This week, the class have had lots of fun working in teams to design and build their dream birds in PSHE. The class have been thinking about how to work well as a team, listen to each other’s opinions and make sure that everyone feels included.

In Science, the children have been doing more investigations into the suitability of different materials. They looked at different types of gloves and tested which were most suitable for keeping hands warm, keeping hands dry, keeping hands safe and gloves which allowed you to pick up small objects. There were some fantastic discussions about the suitability of different materials and using different materials for different purposes.

In English, the class are coming to the end of their lessons on the wonderful book Winter Sleep, A Hibernation Story. They have been story mapping and writing the next instalment in the story and thinking about the different seasons and the changes they might see in nature when out in the secret glade.
