Year 3: Painting with Scissors

In Art with Mrs Laura, Year 3 have had a joyful time learning about French Artist Henri Matisse and then creating their own artwork inspired by his famous 1947 Jazz Series.

Everyone contributed their own colourful paper cut-outs to create a giant mural in the style of the Jazz Series – a celebration of colour, movement, music and the circus. Matisse liked to call his paper cut-out technique ‘painting with scissors’.

We’re sure you will agree Year 3’s finished piece is eye-poppingly wonderful and a colourful celebration of collaboration, creativity and the joy of artistic expression.
