Year 4: River Trip
Year 4 had a fantastic day in Devizes at the beginning of the month, and we were lucky that the sun shone for us!
The class were very excited to experience travelling on a barge along the Avon and Kennet Canal. Much excitement was had as we had to travel through 2 locks on our journey. The children were told how and why locks were built, and they got to build their own versions in a sand tray.
After our boat journey, we walked along the canal side to see how the locks worked to let the boats through. It looked like a tiring job.
Towards the end of the day, there was time to look around the museum. The class really enjoyed it and we even told by a member of the public that they were really well-behaved!
