Year 6: Nature and clay pots

In Year 6, we have been reading Pax by Sara Pennypacker – a story of a bond between a boy and a red fox. It has been moving start to the story, but we have enjoyed the superb quality of writing and storytelling. We are using this book to link to our learning in other areas this term, such as World War II.

In English, we have been researching the red fox  and watching how nature documentaries are narrated. This week, we are writing our own nature documentary scripts to voice over existing documentaries.

In art, we have explored the theme of identity, through the appraisal of works by Grayson Perry. We are now busy mind-mapping and sketching designs for our own miniature clay pots, in the style of Perry himself.
