Yrs 4 & 6 visit the Houses of Parliament

Year 4 and Year 6 were excited to arrive in the capital city of London on Tuesday 13th October. Greeted by its incredible skyline, we made our first stop at the Palace of Westminster. The children were taken on a tour of the Parliamentary buildings and even got to observe debates in both the House of Commons and the House of Lords! Following the tour the children learned all about the monarchy in Britain dating back to King John and the Magna Carta. After the workshop, we all delighted in a beautiful walk along the river before getting on to a river cruise boat! On the way the children all marvelled over the eclectic mix of architecture and listened carefully to the informative commentary on the boat. After a quick stop at the Tower of London to look at Traitors’ Gate, we made our way back down the river and safely home to Bath.
