Year 3: Sports & Arts

This week, Year 3 have had an incredibly active and creative time, with many highlights to celebrate. The class thoroughly enjoyed attending the Multi-Sports Festival at Oldfield, where they demonstrated great enthusiasm, teamwork and resilience across a range of activities. Their developing skills in basketball were particularly impressive, and they showed growing confidence in their netball and passing skills too. Pupils shared that their favourite moments included energetic games like “Stuck in the Mud!”, with one child summing up the day perfectly by saying, “I loved everything!”
Back in the classroom, the children have continued their fantastic work on the Jennifer Wheatley-inspired art project, exploring the Through the Window series. They have been experimenting with multi-media techniques to create their own unique pieces, thoughtfully combining materials and ideas to express their creativity—do take a look at the photos of their wonderful finished work. Alongside this, pupils are continuing to build fluency in their times tables using TTRS, showing great perseverance and progress. It has been a week full of energy, creativity and achievement—well done, Year 3!
